Remembering Pulteney’s beginnings on Founders’ Day

The original trustees of Pulteney Street School convened in May 1847 to establish an educational institution for the children of Adelaide. After a year of preparation, on Monday 29 May 1848, Pulteney Street School officially opened its doors. From these modest beginnings, the School has prospered over the years. On May 29 students, teachers and Pulteney alumni honoured Founders’ Day with services held at the School and St Peter’s Cathedral.
